Friendly Friday

Welcome Friends of the Friendless Marching Band.
This was quite the week. I just about didn't make the march. I spent all day cleaning my tuba. I didn't know I could buy them.
Looks great though, doesn't it?

I can't wait for you to see these friendless sites.

The featured blogger this week is Emily at Edge Gallery.I like this blog because:
  • of her words, "So, how tender can we bear to be? That is a hard one...but I'm trying to learn to do this, not just with words but by actions. And you do have to be a little brave, too. You have to sweep your shyness or hang-ups to the side and notice the details of a persons face and that they are there."
  • she is an artist
  • who teaches art to children
  • I like her mischievious dog, Mr. Nelson
Take a look at Texas Gal of Texas Talk and Theory as well. She is a young woman who has written a wide variety of posts since 2002.

Now, there is time to do a survey for the FFMB. After you are finished, you might like to get a banner.

Do you visit the friendless blogs on Friendly Fridays?
Yes, I am a member of the FFMB and I visit them every Friendly Friday.
Yes, I am a member of the FFMB and I visit them whenever I think of it.
Yes, I am a member of the FFMB and I never visit them. Why did I join?
No, I am not a member of the FFMB but I visit the friendless blogs every Friendly Friday.
No, I am not a member of the FFMB but I visit them whenever I think of it, anyways.
No, I am not a member of the FFMB. What is the FFMB?
No, I am not a member of the FFMB but I would like to be.
I would become a member of the FFMB if I didn't have to be friendly.
I will never be a member of the FFMB! It is degrading to the friendless.

Since only bloggers can comment on Texasgal`s site -and I of course am blogless- I`ll leave one for her here: I`m the "flagbearer" for the band. Aah, to be young and pretty and full of life... . As for being on the short side my mom barely made five feet and she was a tough cookie and had a great personality. You know the saying about small packages... .

Dear Carol,
Thank you for having my site for your Friendly Friday. What a great concept! And of course, I love Lucy and that was an especially good show on friends. In the end, she learns she's not friendless after all. Isn't that always the case?

I love your site and am adding it to my blog roll. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Hope you're staying warm (we got another six inches of snow...)!

Hey, you guys are doing great!

Thanks Mango, for leaving your comment for Texasgal here.

Emily, we could use a tambourine player. Yeah!
Texasgal also wants to be in the band. (I read that on her blog)She plays the violin.

Thanks Sister Celtic. I love the sound of your cymbals.

Rhiannon,
Gotta love my tuba, too.

Kathy,
Yeah, you never know where you'll end up.

Oh and for all those hesitant to take the survey: This is completely anonymous. I can't trace ya down.

What a super idea the Friendless Friday is. I wish it had been around when I was starting my blog. 'Twas a mighty lonely time for the longest while!

Dropped in from Michele's tonight.

Hi, Michele sent me. I'm very interested in this friendless blog thing. I think I have a friendless blog. I'll go visit your friends.

Carol said...

Hi to those who visited via Michele's.

Lish, I had a look at your blog and, unfortunately you do not qualify to be a friendless site but you can be a Friend to the Friendless.
To sign up, choose an instrument and state it here. Then come visiting with us on Friendly Fridays. Also, you could nominate friendless sites (0-5 comments/post).

Thanks for the info. I would like to be a piccolo player, if I may. I'll be back next Friday, if not sooner.

Carol said...

Lish, my girl, you are the piccolo player for the FFMB. Congratulations!

K8!
It's not too late be reinstated. We need our majorette back!

Hi Carol - I did the parade route alone today with my flute. My husband and I actually went out last night to a holiday dinner.

Better late than never!

Hey..thanks for the comment mango. I at first felt funny about being nominated for the friendless blog thing...I don't feel friendless just don't always tell my friends where I keep my blog. Easier to be honest in my writing...and I mainly write for me. However, since you have all come by it has been nice to see everyone. I think...it might be nicer to come up with a diff. way of saying we are friend's of the friendless, a little insulting at first...I had to swallow some humble pie on that one...since i had played a joke which scared away my friends. Bah, anyway, glad you guys visited...don't know if I will be a reg. member of the freindless group but I did enjoy getting to know you all! I think I must be rambling so I'll end here.

Umm...sorry about the spelling up there...I would fix it but that would require deleting and reposting...so, just know that I can spell just not at 2:05am
