Matthew 8:21-22

"Another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father."
But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."

Following Jesus must take priority over everything else, even earthly responsibilities and cares can't take precedence over God's call to the spirit.

How do we answer the call to follow Jesus today?

Feelings and affections are not trustworthy guides but the Bible is. These Words teach us God's path. If you want to follow Him, give Him all your attention, now.

That's the key to the whole thing.

I have always wondered why that while there is only one Bible there are hundreds of "Christian" religions. Perhaps if people put more effort into following what the Bible says instead of copying worldly institutions and caving into modern social mores this problem could be resolved.

Thanks for your comments everyone.

Yes, Zeb, seek to understand the Bible. Read, study and follow those Words.
