Shift Your Weight

I am introspective. My Mom used to tell me that I thought too much. A friend told me to get my mind off of myself and focus outwards. For some this is easy , for me it is a huge paradigm shift of being.

That same friend said it is better to live life as a surfer does, adapting to the overwhelming waves. Complaining about the situations in life doesn't help nor does getting depressed about it.

I am tired of that. Yes, I am ready to look outward, shift my balance in response to the moving waters around me, aware that I am not alone on the sea.

My mom told me the same thing. :-)
A walk, a movie tonight should put the concentration in balance.

I hope the paradigm shift brings you greater understanding and happiness.

Pearl and Esteemed Others,
I would like to hear more about how you balance the inner and the outer worlds.

Part of it is in every post: my ode to the importance of nonsense in word chains, my nod to practicality and consciousness to beauty in what I show as menu, my glad game to remind me to look around and see what is working to retrain myself to see good, my introspection on some point or turning away from inward and report the outward, not my spin on it but as much as possible channeling or relating a lecture.

Pearl,
I love that. Thanks!

The world is horribly prejudiced against introverts. Extraversion is something we are told to aspire towards.

And maybe that's why the world is often so screwed up...

Bipolar Guy,
I think the ideal is to have some of both. As an introvert, just a little of extroversion (looking outward) might be enough to put my self in the right perspective with what's going on around me.
