"Thus did Noah: according to all that God commanded him, so did he."
Noah obeyed God. If Noah would've used another type of wood other than what God told him to use, would the ark have survived the flood?
God's commands are for a purpose and for man's own good.

I've got to the point in my life, Carol, where if God askes me to use LEAD to make a boat - I WILL. (axe-heads do float!) So many years were spent doing things my own way... I resigned. This is, naturally, not the way the world looks at life. Keep at it - you are inspirational and single-minded in your calling. Bless you.

Thanks Su for the wonderful encouragement!
Gopherwood is what God chose Noah to use. This boat was going to be tested like none other. God could've ordered lead to be used but then a miracle would've been necessary to keep it afloat. I don't read of too many miraculous happenings with Noah. Noah had to only listen and obey in order to survive the flood. "...Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God."
Gen6:9 That type of man would obey the instructions and live!
Dwayne,
Exactly, if Noah didn't follow God's explicit instructions, all would have been lost but God knew the type of man that Noah was and trusted him with the responsibility of building the ark correctly.
Hi there, Fred! The week is starting out really well, thank you.
Those links are just what I needed, Sister Celtic. You are a dear!
I don't know much about weights and all that was mentioned below your Noah's article. What I do know is Noah would not have made it if he didn't follow God's command. As it was said His command had a purpose and so be it.
"I don't read of too many miraculous happenings with Noah"
Well then, what was miraculous, and what was not?
To the credulous mind, in full flower at this site, it's all just a walk in the park to build a wooden supertanker and gather tens of thousands of animals from the four corners of the earth.
Nope, no miracles here!
Thanks Friday's Child for your belief.
Cranky Old Fart,
What was miraculous?
By that I take it to mean what did God do?
He closed the door. Genesis 7:16
"Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God has commanded him; and the Lord closed it behind him."
Hi Corol. I have always been such a black and white girl. If that is what is said in the bible then that must be what it was. God said it I beleive it!
Check it out, Wandi.
I so agree that all good things happen to all those who believe AND obey the Lord. If we chose to lean on our understanding over God's plan for us, we surely would not have an easy life here on earth. And if Noah didn't follow God's commands down to the minutest detail, we wouldn't be here at all.
Have a greet week ahead! :-)
Carol,
I must say, your icon is perfect for you!
Thanks for your comment, Chrixean!
What a nice thing to say, Cranky Old Fart! Are you a Lucy fan, too?
Is there another Lucy fan about? Where? Maybe we should start our own Lucy blog!
I am so glad Noah loved God and followed His instructions.
Lucy the good hearted ditz. Who wouldn't be a fan?
Hi Cranky Old Fart,
The really funny thing about Lucy is that in real life she wasn't anything at all like her persona.
She had a diverse range of talent!
Yeah, you gotta love Lucy...
An aside, I sure would be interested in knowing which artist should paint your portrait!
As I suspected; M.C. Escher.
I suspected the same, COF.
Thanks for doing the test.
