Hidden inside a cotton gift bag
touch describes her
tears flow down a smooth cheek
honesty opens a crevice in her thoughts
and I feel coolness
and silkiness
Then I open the drawstring
and she falls silently before me
recovering herself
before I really know
touch describes her
tears flow down a smooth cheek
honesty opens a crevice in her thoughts
and I feel coolness
and silkiness
Then I open the drawstring
and she falls silently before me
recovering herself
before I really know

Bautiful poem.
Carol, I love this one!
This is beautiful Carol!
Thank you for your kind comments.
Hope you enjoyed the 2006 National Poetry Month celebrations here at A Revision!
I like the accuracy of the image of emotions peaking out before being brushed away in what I see as this goodbye gift giving.
Hi Pearl,
It is always interesting to read other people's interpretations!
Thanks Jon,
Nice to meet you.
