I approached the doctor
with a question
"My Mother...
if she doesn't receive this procedure,
what will happen?"
He looked closely
my face was firmly set
no quivering lip
I was braced for the answer
He almost shouted
"She'll die!"
I didn't flinch
I was prepared
to know
